A New Deal for Apprenticeships: Will This Be Enough? The UK government's latest plan aims to address the concerning trend of young people disengaging from education and employment.

With over a million 16 24 year olds currently Not in Education, Employment or Training (Neet), Prime Minister Andy Burnham's proposals provide a safety net for families who face financial hardship when their children start apprenticeships.

Under this new scheme, eligible parents will receive up to £4,500 per year as a bursary, replacing lost Universal Credit payments.
